This historic home was built in 1863 by Robert Jordan, a civil war veteran who made his living as a general merchant in Ipswich after the war. Guests are invited to relax in the living room (by the fireplace) with a glass of wine and a good book. Sun seekers may enjoy strolling in the yard, nearly an acre of terraced perennial gardens with walkways designed to create a tranquil atmosphere. You can have refreshments on the deck, or a walk through the adjacent historic district. Quaint rooms with queen beds (and one with twin beds), plus a carriage house with a queen bed, and a separate entrance apartment with kitchenette and king bed are available. Your delightful host, Ray, has a vast knowledge of the history of the area. Wake up to the smells of bacon, fresh baked muffins, homemade pancakes, and follow your nose to the dining room where eggs Benedict and the Inn’s special French toast reign over their menu. Try Margret's homemade granola over a bowl of fresh fruit or order our special pancakes with blueberries, bananas and pecans. There is also a 40 seat restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and events are also hosted.
